lovely hAnglars only GDT

OMG I am so dizzy - I forgot to post this one. I won the challenge at the lovely hAnglars only a couple of weeks ago and got to be GDT for challenges 14 & 15 -WHOOHOO - I can't tell you honoured, thrilled and excited I was - so how come I forgot to post my DT card - we're hurtling towards Christmas so quickly I just can't keep up.

This challenge is to make a bookmark, a nice little Christmas extra present for someone.

I chose the images from the Gingerbread set, they are coloured with distress inks and cut out and layered on a Spellbinders label. I've made a double ended bookmark and at the other end I used the gingerbread basket, which I cut out by hand. The edges are all finished with a gold calligraphy pen.

I also made the bookmark double sided and this is the reverse side with the little boy and a place on which to write a message when I know who the recipient is.
I sandwiched a ribbon in between the layers and stitched a bow on the front , I then had to find something to fasten to the back to cover the stitching - I never seem to make life easy for myself. I managed to attach the gorgeous little wooden button (coloured with Copics) which I picked up at the NEC.

Right I'll go away now and see what I can forget next LOL.

Your detail on that basket & the napkin is brilliant - so life-like. This stamp set caught me eye with the Lucia Katter saffran buns in the basket. Today 13th Dec is St Lucia Day in Sweden when a St Lucia is crowned with a candle tiara & walks through the town at dawn in a procession distributing buns & singing a special song.Well - that's how I remember it.
I love that ribbon & heart button & your layering is so eye-catching. My husband has a nick-name for me "Miss Leave-it-behind".
Have a good day.
