For this weeks challenge, our fabulous Design Team Member Anthea has created this fabulous sketch for you to play with :), feel free to twist, flip and stretch the sketch in any way you would like, as long as the sketch can be easily recognised you are good to go :), But remember the golden rule, there must be at least one item from Basic Grey used on your creations.

I used the Periphery papers this week. I followed the sketch but squashed it up slightly to fit a square card and in place of the circle I sat Alf on a bed of leaves. Alf is coloured with Copics and the leaves cut with the Leone Em branch punch. The sentiment is by Personal Impressions. Overall I like this card but I do think I should have left a small white border around Alf when I cut him out - he disappears into the background too much. I might re-stamp him (cut around the edge), lift him of the card and place him on the new restamped image.

Copic Colour Challenge.

These are the colours for the Copic Colour Challenge this week.

I'm happy with the colours this week - I couldn't cope with the acid yellow last week. I used to have sick migraines and moved into a house with acid yellow bedroom walls - now that yellow reminds me of the horrendous migraines I used to have.
I tried to keep the image coloured only with the three nominated colours but green crept in on the flower leaves. I had intended to glitter the flower - but forgot - I always leave the glittering to the end these days as I can't wait for it to dry - then I forget to add it derrr....
I used Alva with flower and sat her on a piece of paper I'd 'grunged' up by staining and stamping with various inks and stamps. I've just noticed slight bleeding around Alva's hat - just call me Mrs. Impatient - I used Memento ink but can't even wait a few minutes for that to dry.

Two Challenges - One card

Double Dutch challenge is Clear and Simple - and I'm not sure this will count as the only acetate I could find (apart from printable which is too thin) was this solitary piece with squiggles on. Where is my plain acetate - probably still packed in one of the boxes used whilst decorating was taking place.

The Creative Card Crew's challenge is embossing.

I decided to put my image on the inside of the card and frame a hole cut in the front.
The Gorjuss girl2 is coloured with Copics and I have heat embossed the corners and the centers of the flowers which I have fastened to the frame with silicone glue. I have cut a further piece of the turquoise and fastened it to the back of the image (back of the card) for a sentiment. The whole thing was so difficult to photograph, black background worked best and I must admit I rather like this and will probably use it again.

Two Awards from a Lovely Friend

Christine (aka Nanaseaside) has so kind and generously given me these two awards. She has a truly wonderful blog and creates the most gorgeous cards and has a wonderful eye for colour. With these awards I am asked to include this wording

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers.Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award"

I cannot possible choose eight out of all the
lovely amazing friends I have made in blogland.
I have so many people who visit and comment regularly (you know who you are) and I would like you all to have these awards so please, please take them with my love.

CCC Challenge

A fabulous sketch by Sharon for this weeks Creative Card Crew's challenge.
I'm on the' last gasp' for this one but had to make a card for a friend for the daughter of her friend and thought the sketch was perfect for this.

I used SN's Daisy and coloured her with distress inks. The backing paper is from Paper Adventures and called - WAIT FOR IT - "Go Fish Fresh Water Wash" - I mean I ask you what sort of name is that for a paper?
My friend wanted the child's name and age on the card, I've added the number three, but when I cut the letters they turned out a little large, so I'm not quite sure where to go with this at the moment. Of course once having made the card I thought I might as well
enter it for the challenge.
