Paperplay Challenge GDT

This is my last week as GDT for PaperPlay challenges and I'd like to say thanks to the fabulous DT's for having me.

This image is called 'Doggie says Ruff' and you can find him HERE, I say he because he really looks like a he to me - LOL!!He is coloured in Copics, and I knew when I was photographing him - something wasn't quite right, not until I got it on screen did I realise what - he now has blue eyes!!! The edges are inked with walnut stain distress ink, the papers are Graphic 45, the twill ribbon and dog bone charm are from my stash and the sentiment is Papermania.

Simon Says Stamp's Autumn Photo inpiration

Wow aren't these week's just flying by ? - we have a photo inspiration for you at the Simon Says Stamp challenge, your provided with some fabulous entries for Jay Jay's sketch last week.

As usual the prize will be $25 shopping spree, at the Simon Says Stamp Store with the fabulous Heidi paying the postage costs.

This cute image is by Lili of the Valley is one of a fabulous selection that can be found at the store Here and I've coloured her with Copics The papers are Basic Grey's Indian Summer, the Spellbinders Shapeabilities pendant Lotus is behind the image, have you seen the new Snowflake Pendant - it is gorgeous!!. I've cut the corners with a MS Double loop punch and used the floral accent dies on the corners and the panel. 

Here is a photograph of the inside of the card which I have to say photographed much better than the outside!!! I have a few of these cards, using different folding techniques (mainly from the Stamarctic blog), I think it's time I started using a few!!

Truly Scrumptious

Already it's time for another challenge at Truly Scrumptious and here is the fabulous sketch we have for you,

I coloured this image for the Mo's Digital Challenge this week (bling) and decided it was perfect for over sketch over at Truly Scrumptious this time, although now a little last minute for the DP2 challenge
The angel Michael is coloured with Copics, his wings glittered with Stardust Stickles and the edge of the image inked with faded jeans distress inks. The panels are embossed with the Snowflakes folder, the diamonds that form the strip are actually out of my nail art box. The holographic gems I placed in the middle of the snowflakes are for some reason shining pink for the photograph but don't IRL. The ribbon  and
snowflake charm are both from my stash.

House Mouse challenge #79

It's time for another challenge at House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge. We had a fabulous hop and hope you all enjoyed hopping around with us last challenge, have to say you provided with some amazing creations.

BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

I had a few problems with this one - mainly the fact I had no school type mousies and had to be inventive. Do you ever get ideas then wished you hadn't?  The blackboard part of the easel was easy - the legs - they got shorter and shorter until I reached a point I just had to stop before it became legless!!!

I had a foam alphabet which I thought I could colour white with acrylic paint then colour them with Copics - great idea - except it took about 10 coats of white acrylic to cover them. I had no numbers so had to improvise there.

Now onto the mousies - the one at the top is 'curious Muzzy', He has really long hair which is dark grey. He is very, very curious and extremely investigative.

Bottom left is Mudpie 'Relax' - he is brown with a little nick in his ear which happened when he and Maxwell were chasing the same piece of cheese.

On the right is Maxwell who is a reddish brown, he is a prankster and loves to play tricks.

The little one at the bottom is Monica, she is very tiny with huge feet which you can't see on this image, and she is sweet, innocent and charming.


Hope you enjoyed getting to know the mousies a little better and you all have a good week - weekend will soon be here again!!!

Lili of the Valley

Lili of the Valley's challenge this week is a Christmas card in non traditional colours - as I never do Christmas cards in traditional colours this was pretty easy - so to make it a little more difficult for myself I decided to try and keep it Clean and Simple not easy for me!! 

This is about as CAS as I get and I just couldn't resist adding flowers and leaves - I did try hard not to!! This beautiful image is coloured in Copics, the fur on her hat is a mixture of fun flock and flower soft and I've used Stardust stickles on the ground. The white is embossed with the Snowdots folder and the edges cut with a Carla Craft punch. The frame for the image is cut with Spellbinder octagons, the holly leaves with a Crealies die and the ribbon is from my stash. I have got a small Happy Christmas stamp that I will stamp down the side of the image when I find it - I must stop tidying up LOL!!

Totally Papercrafts and ???

Well here is the result of today's playtime!! I had the urge to do something for fun - so when I saw the challenge over at Totally Papercrafts this had to be the one!!!

"A Kind of Magic"

Ironically enough I was looking in my digi-dowload file and I came across this image which was from Inklined - he is called James and I think he's a real cutie!!

I knew exactly what I wanted to do with him - create a little magical scene. I stamped him on Copic papers, masked him then first brayered the background with Adirondak inks. Whilst he was still masked I overstamped with the trees and the Castle. I also stamped some silhouette leaves at the top and around the sides. I coloured James with Copics and put a sort of twirly halo of glittery shapes around him. I ended up using more than I had intended due to dropping my small inkpad onto the image/s - upside down - of course!!

The small Crystals as they're called are by Jones Tones and are actually silver but the light has caught them and multi-coloured them. Do I like it - yes I do although I think the background at the roots of the large tree could be darker - it wouldn't be me if I didn't find faults somewhere, but all in all a satisfying playtime. I had thought this would fit another challenge but can't for the life in me remember which - should I search - maybe!!

PaperPlay Challenge GDT

At PaperPlay challenges this week we are asking you to use only coffee and cream on your projects. Ooooh I'm a brown girl so this combination is right up my street.

We are being sponosed by Phindy's Place

 and Philomena is very generously offering a $15 gift certificate for her store!!

The little angel by Phindy is coloured in Copics and her dress is paper pieced, I've added gold stickles to the stars and Stardust stickles to her wings. The edges of the image are stamped with a Basic Grey flourish stamp and heat embossed using gold embossing powder. The top punched edge, which you can barely see, is cut with a Friskars border punch.

The papers are SU, the gold braid and stars are from my stash.


I nearly forgot to publish this post, I'm losing the plot folks!!

Simon Says - Jay Jay's sketch

This week at the Simon Says Stamp challenge we have a fabulous sketch by

the talented Jay Jay who will be joining us for the next four weeks. 

 We are featuring Sarah Kay this week, you can find a fabulous selection of Sarah Kay stamps in the Simon Says Stamp Store HERE  and, if you have them we would love you to wee you use them.

As usual Heidi is giving one lucky entrant the fab prize of a $25 shopping spree to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp Superstore  -  did you see the All New Just In goodies ??  You will be spoilt for choice !!

I've  used this adorable Sarah Kay image and coloured her with Copics then cut her out using the Spellbinders curved rectangles. I've used papers from the fabulous Tim Holtz Vintage shabby Idea-ology Range which can be found HERE.
The zig-zag border is cut with and EK Success punch, the label tag from a Spellbinders Ribbon tag die and the sentiment is Papermania.
The flowers are a mixture from my stash, I'm trying to use up my old stash to justify buying lots of the delicious new Prima ones, have you seen them? - have a look HERE - but don't rush off and buy them all - save me some!!

DP2 Challenge card

Mo's Digital Challenge is Bright White and as I love Christmas cards in white this is what I decided to do.

The Image is called Winter Delivery and I coloured it in distress inks for the first time. I'll stick to Copics in future for this image - why some images lend themselves better to one medium than another beats me!!!

The rear panel is embossed with Cuttlebug's Snowflakes embossing folder, the inner one with the Snowdots folder. I used the Spellbinder's Fleur de lis pendant to frame the image, the snowflakes are cut with Spellbinder's Create a flake and the holly leaves with a Crealies die. The brad and ribbon are from stash.

I've been watching the swallows all day gathering together to getting ready for their long flight to Africa.

I find it quite sad, I do wish I was going with them - on a plane of course!!

Still one of the beauties of this time of year - you can put butter in a cupboard and it comes out the right consistency, not like summer when it's to runny or too hard if you put it in the fridge -great!!

Basic Grey DT - A Sketch by Tara G

Time for another challenge at Basic Grey and this week we have a fabulous sketch for you by the multi-talented Tara G  - thanks T for a great sketch - love it!!

I used the beautiful Belles & Whistles image 'Fairy Play' by the uber-talented Elizabeth Bell. I coloured her with Copics, her wings are glittered with Stardust and her dress with Frosted lace stickles, I really can't make my mind up about the Frosted lace stickles - do I like them, do I not??

I used the beautiful Kioshi papers by Basic Grey. The circle is cut with Spellbinders nesties, the border with a MS round the page punch and the flowers and leaves with Crealies dies. The pearls are from my stash.

Paperplay Challenge GDT

This is my third week as GDT for PaperPlay challenges - where are the week's going? This week we are asking you to make anything other than a card and are sponsored the week by the fabulous Craft Brulee and one lucky winner will receive a £10 voucher to spend in the store. 

I've been wanting to make one of these fabulous drawer boxes of Kirstens of ages and this seemed the perfect opportunity. You can find her brilliant, easy to follow  instructions HERE 

I use the beautiful Willow with lantern from Whiff of Joy (I don't think I'll ever tire of this gorgeous image) and coloured her with Copics. The papers are Basic Grey's Aged & Confused Vagabond collection. All the edges are distress using the Tim Holtz distressing tool, inked with Weathered wood distress ink and glittered using Diamond stickles. The pearls are from Prima marketing, the flowers from Wild Orchid crafts, the leaves cut with a Woodware punch and the lace is from my stash. I've used TH Idealogy hitch fasteners on each of the little drawers. The scrolls on the side are cut with a Cuttlebug Floral borders die and a Fancy tag used for the inside of the card, yet to be stamped. For strength I used Bind-it-all 6" x 6" chipboard covers for the top and bottom.

This is a close-up of the card on the top of the box which I decided to make into an easel card.

And this is the side of the box showing the little drawers, although they aren't so little, each one measures 2" x 3", now I just have to decided what to put in them. This is one lousy photograph - might try again in daylight - not the easiest project to photograph.

I only ever make a card for one, maybe two challenges and it it fits others, brilliant and this one also fits into the following challenges.

So I'm a Happy bunny this morning - i seem to have finally shrugged off the super bug that's been dragging me down, Blogger is behaving himself and the world is all lovely and 'rosey' yet again!!

As you may have guessed by now our challenge this week is MOVE IT ! Yes, we want to see some movement in your creations whether it be a tag that pulls out, a door that opens, a shaker card, springs, an image that shows movement, anything, as long as it moves !!

Well Edwin is off on safari - sadly there was no room for Tilda. I stamped the bus, masked it and stamped the sun over the mask, I then masked the bus and the sun and brayered the background with Adirondak inks. I did debate masking Edwin on to the whole but chickened out as the last time I tried three masks I ended up with them in wrong order and poor Edwin found himself impaled on a fence so I spared him this time. The bus, the sun and Edwin are all from the Magnolia Animal collection and can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store HERE. And the Adirondak inks can be found HERE. The papers are from Basic Grey's Green at Heart pad, the leaf/branch up the right hand side is a Basic Grey chipboard sticker which I inked and covered with Glossy accents. The small flowers were cut with a Woodware die and the leaves are from my stash.

I'm not too happy with this one, I sorted out my papers, coloured my image, tidied up my craftroom and haven't found the image and papers since,

I'll leave my mess as it is in future. So it's was all haste to colour another image and use different papers. I've imagined her in a spotlight shining from the left front. I added shading under her jawline on her hair and around her arms and body. I've also tried to create a shadow falling on the background to make it look a though the light was creating the shadow, also on her petticoat where the dress would be hiding it from the light.

The papers are from Basic Grey's June Bug pad. The ribbon, leaves and flowers are from my stash.

It's the Mousie's Anniversary HOP

It's the second Anniversary at House Mouse &  Friends Challenge Blog so we are celebrating with a blog hop. We have loads of fun in store for you and Oh Boy - you want to see the prize on offer -  totally awesome, and there really are too many to list just check them out!!! What are you waiting for get those Mousie stamps out and start creating.


All the DT's have a number of cheeses for you to collect.
Easy, create your card, enter it in the challenge, visit each DT leave a comment and collect the number of cheese which that DT has to offer,
At the end of the hop all you have to do is count the number of cheeses you have collected along the way and enter them into the comments section.

I turned the sketch upside down to accomodate the the whole thing a little better and spent half the time looking at my computer upside down to make sure I'd got it right.

I've made a wall hanging, the image is coloured in Copics, the papers are DCWV Linen Closet. The border is cut with an MS deep border punch, the flowers are Wild Orchid, the sentiment is Hero Arts and everything else is from my stash.

 RIGHT,  I can hear you ask - what has my creation got to do with celebrations - I am celebrating one of life's treasured moments. I had to tell my 'teamies' so I suppose I'm going to have to tell you all as well.

Some years ago, in the school holidays and when it was fashionable my grandson wanted a wedge cutting through his eyebrow.

His Mother's response - "DON'T YOU DARE!!!!"

I said to him, quietly on the side - "I'll do it!!"

He came round to my house and I got the clippers out (the ones I used for my dog actually) and as I put them to his brow he jumped and said 

"Oh I don't think I dare !!" 

Oooops - too late - wrong time to jump and only half an eyebrow left.

I managed to restrain from laughing until I saw the expression on his face when he looked in the mirror,  I just cracked up and the tears of laughter rolled down my face. 

His expression was identical to that little bald mousie's. 

Needless to say I got a serious telling off from my daughter -

"WHY can't you be more responsible, WHEN are you going to GROW UP and ACT your age???"

This wall hanging now hangs in my bathroom and I start each day with a giggle.

And at the end of this I have to give a million thanks to my fabulous friend Scoopy Sue who kindly sent me this image. I thought about buying it but I could never, ever come up with the brilliant sentiments Sue does for the image - she is amazing!!!

Mo's Digital Challenge

I've made this card for the challenge over at DP2 which asks for special folds and flowers, although I'm not sure it can be classed as a card. I've used the instructions from the fabulous Stampartic blog and they call it a tea-light card so hopefully it will pass muster, if not - just ignore me girls.

I've used the beautiful Christmas Fairy Holly and coloured her with Copics. she is cut out with oval nesties and the edges stamped with a Magnolia New Year flourish stamp. The papers are all from SU, the flourishes cut with a Marianne creatable, the pearls are Prima marketing and the flower Wild Orchid crafts. The ribbon and lace are both from my stash.

This is the inside of the card with a pocket and tag one one side and the tea-light box on the other. Please excuse the pink tea-lights, I went to the shop to get some creamy one and came back with everything but. 

Bad memory - who me???

All the edges are inked with Vintage photo distress ink , and this is the back of the card and I will stamp something on the oval when I decided who the recipient is.

This is the side of the card and I've just realised, seeing it on screen I should have put a strip of dp down the edge of the spine - ooops!!

Now onto my GDT card for PaperPlay challenges, 

Now, on to this week's challenge, it's called "Autumn is a Comin'" - we would like to see work featuring Autumnal colour schemes.

We seem to be having a 'mousie' this week, last week Tilda was everywhere.

I do love my mousies, they have such a zest for life, a love of living, they love their food and if they're not up to mischief they off on some new adventure, 

What else would you do in Autumn but collect fallen leaves and use the as parachutes - what a wonderful attitude towards life they have!!

These little chaps are coloured with Copics (far too many to mention), this is a huge stamp and  little room for embellishments. The papers are Basic Grey's Indian Summer and the silky leaves from my local supermarket. The sentiment, cut with oval nesties is Magnolia.


Autumn is definitely here in Germany, the temperatures have dropped and It's damp and misty. I love the Autumn colours and when it's dry and all the leaves crunch underfoot but I could well do without this wet stuff falling from the skies!!
