Well it's Wednesday yet again and time for WOYWW I missed last week altogether - The eye doctor banned me from my computer and crafting until my eyes settled down and I got my specs. Oh boy - was I miserable, fed up and bored to tears. I did cheat a little and was going to do a WOYWW post, but I decided not to inflict my miserable self on you.
Well - here is this week's mess. I'm now frantically trying to catch up and do everything at once - it's not working. The bits of coloured card are a few backgrounds I'm experimenting on. The red/yellow is stamped in white acrylic with a bubble wrap stamp - I know!!! Why don't I just use bubble wrap - been there, done that and what a mess - I ended up having to throw my shirt out so I decided to invest in a stamp. The purple and turquoise is inked with metallic paints and the flower is cut from acetate, stamped with a spot stamp and shaped with a heat gun - not successful as it doesn't show on any colour of paper, will have to re think that one. My hot glue gun is there - fell out with that - it burnt me yet again!! And the netting is from my garlic basket - I love this stuff you can do so much with it. Not much else really apart from glues, pens and clutter etc.
Here's what's on the other end of my desk - I lost my birthday book and have been so bad on remembering birthdays this year guilt forced me to make a birthday calendar - just the month and dates so it will last forever if I don't lose it again. Just needs filling in now. The other wodge of paper is are my monthly lists of up and coming DT cards/projects, or will be, I've already done August but it's got messed up so I'm doing it again. I really do need to get more organized.
Hopefully I should manage to get round a few more of you now I have my eyes back and an extremely lighter purse!!
I dont think your desk looks too much of a mess...you have created some lovely backgrounds!!! TFS Hugs Juls
ReplyDeleteOh, boy can I relate!! Glad your eyes are getting better.
ReplyDeleteYou encouraged me to have a go at this WOYWW. Your output over the last few days has been phenomenal - not surprised you don't have time to clear up between.

ReplyDeletehahaha had to laugh at Sue's comment about taking your glasses off - quite true. REminds me of a time I went swimming and someone said look at those flies in the water and a friend; minus her glasses; said 'what flies?' LOL

Hi Heather - I'm really glad your eyes are sorted and you're back catching up!! Love the backgrounds (and the cautionary tale of the bubble wrap stamping - I'm chuckling at you having to buy an actual bubble wrap stamp!!). I write birthdays on an M&S family organiser that hangs on the kitchen wall and transfer them to the new one each year - only method that works for me!!!

Gosh...that's a very busy desk. I hope you get your birthday book sorted.......mines 20th August in case you were wondering....hehe!!

Wow there's more stuff on your desk than I've seen for a while... but everything is looking as fabby as ever!
ReplyDeleteChrissie
ouch - I pay for reduced thickness lens glasses as well as my super dooper contacts - and it costs me more per month than anything else except the mortgage - but it's worth it to see, follow the advice till you're completely better...which I hope is soon - love your messy creativity...

Looks pretty productive to me! There's something exciting about a disorderly creative affair! lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy desk so many lovely bits, love your pearls, and background colourings, wish I was with you. Glad you got your eyes sorted. Thanks for the snoop Hugs JO.xxxx
ReplyDeleteWell I love your bit of creative chaos - thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteA messy desk shows creativity. My is so cleared it looks like I never do anything, but I do a lot in the LR on the sofa. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
ReplyDeleteThe backgrounds look lovely! I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteOh what a great idea for the calenders Heather! I am total crap at remembering birthdays too :)
ReplyDeleteHope your eyes are feeling better babe :)
*hugs* Heather x
It probably feels like a mess because you've got a lot on, but from where I'm sitting, it looks good and productive! Glad your eyes are improving - gotta be worth a week of in the long run, eh!
ReplyDeleteHope those eyes are better now. New specs will be great and you'll be able to see your desk, too! Sorry I'm late visiting, but my computer contracted a virus on Wednesday. It's still not fixed, but I had to make sure I wasn't infecting anyone before I resumed my visits. Sure glad to see you back this week. Happy belated WOYWW.
