Sketch Saturday

There's a fabulous sketch by Maya over at Sketch Saturday this week and I couldn't resist using it to make one of the Confirmation cards I need in the next few weeks.

I used this WOJ image, coloured her with Copics and replaced the holly berries with pearl beads. I did consider replacing the holly then I thought - no - holly is an evergreen, why should it be for Christmas only. I stamped the edge of the circle with Magnolia's New Year Swirl and heat embossed it with clear powder, I then distressed the edges with a mixture of greens and browns distress inks. The papers are by Tim Holtz, the lace is from my ex-local market and everything else is from my stash.

I decorated the inside and made a pocket for the money it is traditional to give on confirmations. I will personalize the card later.

I can't tell you how good it is to be able to do a challenge card. Now I've sorted out my computer, finally to be able to visit blogs and actually see cards perhaps I will be able to do more challenges.

Hope you're all having a great Bank Holiday and have better weather than we have today - RAIN.

  4. Ooh! I absolutely LOVE that resist stamping around the image - I've got to try that! LOL Such a beautiful card Heather. I'm planning on getting some cards done this week now that the NSBD weekend is over. No bank holiday here - we had the Anzac Day holiday last weekend instead.
Hope the rain clears up soon!
