Copc Creations DT

We have a real fun if somewhat tricky challenge for you over at Copic Creations this week - Colouring other surfaces.

We are SUPER excited to announce that our sponsor for this challenge is the one and only Copic Markers, facilitated by the Copic Guru,
Marianne Walker!!

We are also thrilled to have one of the Regional Certification Copics Instructors and member of the “official” Copic Design Team ~
Sally Lynn MacDonald, joining us for this challenge!!

Once I done my aaaaarggghh and eeeeeks I settle down and stamped and coloured every available surface in my house and had tremendous fun trying these out - Some succesful other not so, and some total abysmal failures.

This is the one I chose for the challenge, Big Tilda is coloured on vellum, I tried this various ways and found stamping on one side of the vellum and colouring in the other to be the most successful. I stamped the corners so that I could attach the image to white card without the glue showing.  The tiny Tilda - aint she cute? is shrink plastic. I have done this before and found once shrunk the colouring was slightly patchy.  This time I stamped Tilda onto the shrink plastic - cut her out, punched a hole with my cropodile - shrank her and then  coloured her - much better result as she didn't turn out too dark and the colouring was not so patchy. If you're going to try this - PLEASE remember to cut your hole before shrinking the image, I have two that I forgot - derrrrr!!!

The  papers are a download, the borders and leaves cut with  Carla Craft punches. The flower is made using EKSucces Retro flower punch and everything else is from my stash.

Fun I had trying other surfaces

My cat's scratching post.  I found this reasonably easy - the drawback being slight bleeding on some odd parts of the wood.  It was the red which I find is more prone to bleed that other colours - but that could be me.

My leg- I was going to 'tattoo' my arm but it's a bit skinny and I couldn't work on it very well. If my leg looks a strange colour that's because I sat on it whilst I was colouring and glittering and cut off circulation.  It actually remained for 2/3 days before it washed off. The next one is a vest top, it was slightly ribbed and would have been much better a smoother fabric but fairly easy to colour.
I also stamped and coloured an image on the blind in my craft room, but struggled to photograph that without actually taking the blind down as it is one of those that lets the light in.

Unsuccessful - printable acetate although Asela has done a brilliant job with this. I also had little luck with a PB image - Cat in a Bubble bath on my bathroom door - this I think would have been better had I sanded the door down more.
Do pop along and see the amazing creations the other DT's have achieved.

hugs
Heather xx

  15. Wow, Heather, I love your creativity. Your card is just adorable and I love the teeny-tiny version of Tilda. Your tattoo rocks, even though I'm probably not going to try it. At least we know it works. Your cat should be a happy camper with those fun mice to look at whilst he scratches, and that little vest is so cute. You are so clever! Great job with the challenge.
