Simon Says...........Spring colours/Easter

Thank you all so much for your fabulous entries following Domi's wonderful sketch.

This week we would like you lighten and brighten things up, hopefully Spring is on it's way for most of us and we would like you to use Spring colours or an Easter creation if you celebrate Easter

I have a new toy to play with - a Martha Stewart Scoring Board - it is fantastic and so very, very easy to use, so of course I couldn't wait to make a box, I now have about 4 boxes, various shapes and sizes waiting to be decorated. Now I'm ready to experiment and try somethings a little different. This is definitely going to become my most used tool along with my Tonic Studios Guillotine

I've covered my box with Magnolia paper Daffodil from the Some 'Bunny Loves You' range and made and easel card for the top of the box.  The image is Hello Tilda coloured with Copics. The sentiment is Magnolia from one of the sets and cut with a Spellbinders Fancy Tag.

The leaves are by  Magnolia and edged with Stardust Stickles, the flowers are Prima Athena flowers - out of stock at the moment, but sure they'll be getting more in - eeeeeeeeeek - I hope they'll be getting more in, my stash is seriously depleted and I really must have some more of these!!

The butterflies are cut with a Martha Stewart Royal butterfly punch and the bodies are Hero Arts small pearls,

that is except the white one whose body I seem to have forgotten - oooops!!

I've lined the inside of the box with Magnolia papers from the same Some Bunny Loves You range, this one is Vintage Yellow Quilt and top is cut with the Martha Stewartround the page punch Double Loops


I tested the size of the box I needed with hen's eggs from my 'fridge and when in England bought 6 Cadbury's cream eggs - well I must say I'm very disappointed in Mr Cadbury - his eggs seem to have doubled in price and halved in size!!! I ended up buying some eggs locally which are rather sweet - all speckled and in yellow and white. What happened to the Cadbury ones 
- I ate them!!!

 

Less is so much More!!!

I've missed the last two weeks of Less is More having been away so I couldn't wait to do the current challenge.

My image/s are by Tiddly Inks, the faded one to the rear is called 'Stand out in the Crowd' and the coloured one is called Batty. I had to play around with Batty and remove the bat she had on a string and turn the background transparent so I could merge her with the other image. I simply added the title of the background image to use as my sentiment and printed the whole straight onto the card. I didn't really want to colour Batty's hair or face but needed to so that she did in fact 'Stand out in the Crowd'!!

I've realized that if I do something unusual or whacky I'm happy with the overall Less is More, CAS look, but I've yet to master this with flowers or landscape type images.

I have another image that would suit this challenge if I have time to use it.

Teddy Bea is late!!!

This card was intended for the Teddy Bo challenge which ended yesterday!!! The losing of 1hour in the UK then another one as I arrived back in Germany (that's 2 hours in 3 days) and my body clock has totally lost the plot. The consolation is I followed the fab sketch by Sem at Sketch Saturday so that is where Teddy Bea is now off to.

Teddy Bea is coloured with distress inks and her two pom-poms are fun-flocked. The paper are from the Prima Botanical collection and the edges distressed with the TH distressing tool and Antique linen distress ink. The border is cut with the Scalloped scallop EK Success punch, the leaves and flowers with Marianne creatable dies. The buttons are Basic Grey if you can see them as I have more or less covered them up with the ribbon bows, and I finished it with some Robin's Nest dewdrops.
Hopefully Teddy Bea will have stimulated my mojo which I feared had disappeared into the big black hole which has appeared between my ears!!

Basic Grey - More than one Fold!!!!

Well I am so glad I made this card before I went away - I haven't created a thing since I returned home. I've sat looking at stamps, papers etc. with a blank look - a great black hole has appeared between my ears and I think my mojo has fallen into it, not only that it's taken my about an hour to do this post - everything kept jumbling itself up so I scrapped it and started again and am now sat with fingers crossed!!!

This week at Basic Grey we would like to see your creations with 'More than One Fold' and thank you all for your fantastic 'Something Recycled' creations.

I've done a step card and the Basic Grey papers are (I think) Sugared - why am I not sure - I dropped my box of Basic Grey pads and some of them fell apart and the pages scattered themselves across the floor. I know what most are but can't quite make my mind up about a few of them and this is one!!

My image is one that the fabulous Katie Cotton of Paper Make-up Stamps sent me for a Copic Creation challenge and she is one of Katie's Moody Girls - this one is Mood for Fashion and such fun to colour.

The swirls are cut with a Marianne creatable, the sentiment panel with a Cuttlebug fancy tag die and the sentiment computer generated - it actually fades from green to pink but for some reason look blue?? The lace and flowers are from my stash.

Now I'm going in search of my missing Mojo, hope you all have a brilliant weekend and the weather is as great as it is here - 22 degress, blue skies and sunshine - who could ask for more!!

I've just been to Mc's (mustavcoffee) blog and she reminded me that I intended to enter this into Sir Stampalot's challenge which is Ladies and Fashion this time. Thanks sweetie - I should probably hire you as my memory!!

Copic Creations - Your favourite technique!!

This week at Copic Creations we are asking you to use your favourite technique - we were intending to have our 2nd anniversary celebrations  but due to some unforseen circumstances have had to postpone it until 1st June.

Favourite techniques - now there's a problem, I don't really have one, I just like trying anything and everything, although there are certain things I find more enjoyable than others.

The fabulous Crafty Secrets are sponsoring us this week and so generously provided the DT's with stamps to work with. 

I chose 'Alice's Tea Party' and then couldn't make my mind up as to which image to use - so what did I do - use them all (well nearly) and make a set of invitations together with a box. Now as I started this shortly before I was due to leave for a couple of weeks in the UK and have only just arrived home this week I really pushed my self time-wise, consequently there are one or two finishing off  jobs I want to add.

This is definitely one of the techniques I love doing, coloring on paper piecing, everything other than the jam tarts are paperpieced and shadow and depth created using E40, 41, 44 &49.

Another technique I enjoy is colouring the pleats and folds in clothing and Alice's dress is perfect for this - here I used B0000, B00, B21, 23 & 29.

Not really sure what technique is used here, but don't you just love the White Rabbit and I couldn't resist adding the watch and fob charm. 

Not quite sure where I was going with this one but ended up trying to see if I could get all the primary and secondary colours into the one image. I think I've made it - Red, Blue(trousers which look a little black) Yellow - primaries

Violet (his tie - not very visible), Green and Orange (hair).

This one has to be the monochrome colouring which I do enjoy but let's face it couldn't do much else with this image!!

This one is a mixture of colouring folds and working with the complimentary colours - red and green.

Now with this one (the Knave of Hearts) I was taking myself out of my comfort zone -  I'm not a lover of yellow and find it a rather difficult to work with so of course I had to have a go!!
