Sketch and Stash

Oh Boy did I struggle with this. Possibly because my Mojo is smothered in Hay fever. As soon as the Spring pollens arrive - that's it - the compensation is that summer pollens don't tend to bother me much. Below are two of the culprits, they are also two of my favourite shrubs - how sad is that?
What I want to know Tara Welch is how come your camellia was is blossom weeks before mine - I'm not sure you live where you say you do - somewhere warmer methinks.

Enough of the waffle - a fabulous sketch to be followed at Sketch and Stash this week. I knew I had to do this as soon as I saw it - then I made really hard work of it.
My new is the Daisy and Dandelion papers I used. The image (curtesy of forum friend) is coloured Copics, the flowers made with the HOTP Fold Back Swirls template and the swirls cut from a QuicKutz die.

Sketch Saturday - 45

There is a fabulous sketch by at Tracie at Sketch Saturday this week. One of my favourite challenges that I have missed the last few weeks due to decorating and all that has been going on in these parts. I chose paper from Laura Ashley (kindly sent by the fabulous Sharon - as part of my Birthday goodies) and coloured my Gorjuss girl with distress inks. I used Basic Grey Boxer stamps at the corners of the image and as the center of the light coloured flower. My MS lace doily punch for the edges of the black strip which I finished with two overlying ribbons.

House Mouse Challenge #32 - Something sweet

Another fabulous challenge at the House Mouse & Friends challenge this week.

"Please make a card or anything you like with something sweet on it! This could be using sweet wrappers, an image with something sweet on it (such as apples, strawberries, sweet's, chocolate), you could even use the word 'sweet' in your sentiment, the list is endless."

I wanted to use this gorgeous image (albeit huge) that Tara sent me ages ago. The image - Juggling Raspberries made me think of jam and I've had this empty Prima flower bucket for some time, great I thought - a perfect size for a jam pot holder. I used little dp as there wasn't room apart from the lid, where I cut out circles with nesties and added a flower and a computer generated sentiment - "Mouse-made Raspberry Jam" . These mousies always bring out the silly head in me!!

Magnolia vs Stampavie - 21 - Sketch Challenge

Magnolia vs Stampavie have a fabulous sketch by Michelle for us this week. I used K&Co McKenna papers and the Sarah Kay image Spring Blossoms which I coloured with distress inks. I cut the swirl/flourish with the sizzix die and add punches leaves and flowers with small rose centers which I thought look rather like the flowers my little lady had been picking. The ribbon threaded through eyelet holes at the bottom looks a totally different colour of green - as this happens frequently with ribbon I can only suppose it's the shiny texture that picks up the light and photographs differently.

Colour Create - Duck egg blue and Rose

This week's Colour Create challenge has been created by our very own Judy. I really hope you will check out the wonderful creations on her blog as there is so much to inspire you. In fact right now is the perfect time to visit as Judy has just had some work published in a magazine and has some piccies to show you. We are all so pleased for her but not in the least bit surprised as she really is uber talented.

I chose K&C0 papers Bailey and one of my Gorjuss girls who I coloured with distress inks. The paper looks a little peachy in the photograph - I photographed in under a daylight lamp and it does change the colours slightly - but roses do come in a variety of pinks don't they?
