Copic Creations............Distressing with Copics

It is our 2nd Anniversary today over at Copic Creations and we have an amazing amount of prizes from from our fabulous list of sponsors from the last year -  lots of goodies to be given away!  Visit the Copic Creations blog for more details regarding their 2-Year Blogoversary.

We’re privileged to have the talented WENDY RAMLAKHAN joining us at Copic Creations!!     Do take a little time to stop by her blog to welcome her aboard.

When I'm shading  outwards, from the image I always use Copics, when I'm shading inwards from the edge of the image I use distress inks. Just to make life a little difficult I decided to showcase this fabulous script text from main sponsor today - Crafty Secrets and use my copics around the edges - just to make life a little more difficult I also decided I wanted to use the image on kraft cardstock!!!   Arrggghhhh!!!!    Kraft cardstock (at least the one I have) is extremely absorbent, not only does it use 'tons' of copic but also is very difficult to blend, I think it took longer to distress the edges than it does to colour an image, but a worthwhile experiment and I'm happy with the over all results and really enjoyed 'having a go'.
I used a Crealies die as a 'frame'  and used foam pads to lift it from the image, the blue frame is embossed with the Cuttlebug folder - Distressed stipes. I finished it with seam binding ribbon and a Tim Holtz button, which sadly insisted on being photographed more 'creamy' than it actually is.

Some of the team are offering up some blog candy as well.  I shall be offering some surprise candy and I will pick a random winner from the comments on this post.

I should have posted this yesterday but for various reason couldn't - I won't tell you because you'll only laugh at my misadventures!!!

  7. Yay Heather ... glad you made it! I won't ask - even though I really could use a good laugh today! :) I can't believe you did all that with kraft cs and Copics! It's really goregous and would look so awesome in a glass frame on the wall. You're always such an inspiration for me to try new ideas! TY. hugz, Mary

  8. I just love that frame & the stamped text is brilliant. The distressed stripes work so well with this too. It's taken me a whole day to do one very straightforward post - Mr Blogger insisted on moving the photos all around & splitting the text & goodness knows what else with my post - his days are numbered now.......
Take care with yourself & thanks for your lovely comment too.

  16. Thank you for the tips on the Copic distressing shading - I don't have any refills yet so I think I would panic if I saw my cardstock absorbing tons of ink, LOL!
