What has happened - who has stolen my week? I haven't finished commenting on last weeks WOYWW
This was my work desk at 7 o'clock this morning, it's now almost 2 o'clock, that's 7 hours gone and nothing achieved. The set of sentiment stamps takes pride of place, purely because one has gone walk abouts and I couldn't possibly put the others away till their little friend re-appears. The box is full of my distress re-inkers, the egg cup - dirty water, the red stamp is a Tim Holtz spotty one, the pliers are left from trying to open a bottle of glossy accents which had glued itself together. The same bottle that half emptied itself on the desk last week. And here are the result when I finally prised it off, tried everything but it insisted on taking some of the veneer with it.
Today shout for help is what now, how do I get rid of this???
And here is the offending blob!! The two holes are punched because I suddenly had the idea I could possible make some clear buttons - drop some of the accents on waxed paper and ..........no I don't think I should go there!!!
This is where my computer was before I moved it, extra space to clutter up, this lot would probably have been on the floor. Someone last week said by little red sewing machine must be worth it's weight in gold.
NO - it will insist on sewing crooked lines, lol.
Right see if I can't be more organised this week and get to nosy around a few more of you.
Your post did make me smile ... I have no idea what you are going to do about the mark on the desk now ... but at least it is once again a good stamping surface ... every cloud and all that!
ReplyDeleteBuy new stash to cover mark on desk - always works for me!

ReplyDeletelove your work area - how about doing a bit of stamping around th mark and making it a piece of art - or just put a craft mat over it - I burnt a hole in my desk and now am the proud owner of a A3 craft mat - or you could use some sticky back plastic and put it over it - oh well whatever you do dont let it spoil you crafting your blog is very inspirational- lv and ((HUGS)) Liz

Hi Heather I have a Messy Mat covering my desk .. that would hide the mark .. or you could always make more marks & pass it off as a pattern !!!
ReplyDeleteHiya Heather

oh great post hun I would just turn, the mark into something, like a stamp,or paint,it,with an arrow, saying mark here,he he I have a large, messy mat on my desk, but my desks are all old,so it really does not matter, with mine, but they are all covered, love the red, sewing machine, hugs cheryl xxxx
ReplyDeleteI love reading your posts Heather. They make me laugh. The eggcup gets me, I've usually got to have a bucket of water beside me to wash my brushes etc out in. lol
ReplyDeleteHi Heather!
ReplyDeleteThat Glossy Accents blob has taken the paint right off, hasn't it? You could try playing with your acrylic paints to mix a colour to patch it. Varnish it with... oh, Glossy Accents!!!
I have a plastic desk protector from Ikea - that would protect your table from future accidents.
A quick question for you - does the Truly Scrumptious challenge site allow other projects than just cards?
Hugs,
Rosey x
Looks a very busy desk!!!! You should see the marks and stains on mine!! lol
ReplyDeleteLove Chanelle xx

Finally I'm on the last lap of visits ...30+ to go. Your working areas look so interesting as do the gorgeous cards I can see .... you sound very busy ...I would leave the mark as a war wound ....a reminder ...but then thats me lol
ReplyDeleteNow you don't have to wonder where to stick post it notes!!!
ReplyDeleteOr why not try a camouflage job by painting over with acrylic dabbers in shades and tones to match. Or else it could just be a smiley face if you add a couple of features.
Awh heck .. it's a sign of creativity! Thanks for the late snoop,
Jo x
Sand it finely and carefully and then apply matching acrylic paint on a sponge in a sweeping motion to match the grain. Sand again, seal. Sounds easy!! Then...take the offensive glue blob outside and put it carefully on the ground. And then jump up and down on it until you feel better. Oh and the missing stamp? Probably stick to a pack that you've already put away!!
ReplyDeletetrying to rival my desk for messiness eh? Heather! Just about managed it too! :) xx
ReplyDeleteThere's always soo much going on Heather!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one to lose bits and bobs. Sometimes they turn up in the unlikeliest of places!
Good luck with the DT projects, they are probably all done and dusted by now... sorry I'm so late!
