Just Magnolia have 'Bright and Zingy' as their theme this week. Eeeeeek!!!!! I don't bright, I don't do zingy but I tried. This is the most horrendous card I've ever made, it definitely took me a zillion miles away from my comfort zone. I chose the brightest papers I could find and stuck them together - yuck!!. Change the colours and papers and I quite like the card. I wasn't going to post this - then I thought why not - give everyone a 'yeuuuww' moment, just hope none of you have a hangover lol.
I'm going to do it again in nice colours and will add it to this post.
I've done the same card again in different colours - I'm showing you the gentle one first just to break you in gently, Same Tilda - both coloured with Copic Markers, The first card is using Rico papers, the second Basic Grey's Lemonade. Both Tilda's are sat on a series of Spellbinders shapeabilities Fleur De Lys pendants with flowers from stash at either corner.
I'm still struggling with my new camera, really gonna have to read those instructions, although we have been having storms here and ther's been no daylight for about 2 days.
Tell me which you like best and I'd love to know if anyone actually likes the 'Bright and Zingy' one.
Hi again Heather, had to pop back to check out the 'sunglasses' comment from before lol!
ReplyDeleteI think you've been very brave to even attempt this (I didn't!) and actually it isn't that bad, although I do prefer the first one lol!
Love your new 'Fleur de Lys' dies, just stunning.
Wow, love those cards. The colors are great.
ReplyDeleteOhhh Heather am sat here giggling away I see what you mean by chucking the papers together it REALLY IS BRIGHT but thats what the challenge wants...I wonder how many will be as brave as you...great layout & yes like the

Hahahahaha, you crack me up!! The first card is gorgeous, or the second one? The "gentle" one, love the papers and the beautiful shapes and colouring, the second card is EXACTLY what the challenge asked for, so kudos to you!! Just pop a Happy Birthday on the front and maybe a butterfly??? and save it for the next time you need a birthday card for a younger lady, because my stepdaughters are over here owwing and awwing over it!! They think it's perfect!!! Tilda is coloured beautifully in both creations!!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Heather! I think you did a grand job on the 'bright & zingy' challenge - they are not colours I would normally go for but the card is still really pretty (albeit bright!!). I do love the purple tones though on your first card! Good for you for doing the challenge - getting out of our comfort zones is always difficult!

Heather, dear heart, as much as I admire your work -- I have to agree with you -- the one that is much softer is more delightful! When I started reading this post and came upon the first image, I'm thinking...what is she talking about? -- and then I went a little further -- but both of them are built to your standards!
